Intended for adult audiences, this series will provide an entertaining examination of various elements in the national park. Drink and Think is the first collaborative effort between Friends of Hot Springs National Park, Superior Bathhouse Brewery, and Mid-America Science Museum. There will be a total of five evenings taking place throughout 2023. Future speakers include Museum educators and National Park Service rangers discussing topics including the tardigrades, local rock formations, and the Webb Telescope and more. Educators from the Museum will also provide interactive science exhibits for attendees to enjoy.

Normal is boring, so let’s take things to the extreme with “Tardi-Gras” the first Drink & Think of 2023, where we’ll be exploring tardigrades and other extremophiles, the true lovers of the extreme! From radioactivity to the vacuum of space, we’ll be diving into the science behind these creatures’ extreme endurance in some of the harshest conditions. Don’t worry, we won’t have to travel to Antarctica, outer space, or even Bourbon St. to find these ultimate survivors since some members of the species live right here in our thermal spring water—and even in our beer!

Murder?”, where we’ll be diving into forensic science and creating our own CSI: Bathhouse Row.
