Our portable planetarium creates an immersive, 360-degree experience that introduces students and guests to planets, galaxies and the science of our universe. Mid-America's experienced museum educators bring the dome, projection equipment and programming directly to your location, making it easy to host an unforgettable STEM learning experience beyond the museum's walls. Since launching Science To Go, our team has brought this mobile planetarium rental to schools and community groups throughout Arkansas and neighboring states.

A Mobile Planetarium for Schools and Community Events

Planetarium To Go is a flexible planetarium rental option for schools, youth programs and organizations seeking an engaging astronomy experience at their own location. The portable dome accommodates approximately 20 to 40 participants and features HD (1920x1080) projection with 360-degree immersive imaging, and it's wheelchair accessible, helping more participants experience the excitement of exploring space.

Space and Facility Requirements

Planetarium To Go must be set up indoors in a clear, open area with:

  • At least 20 feet by 20 feet of floor space
  • A minimum 10-foot ceiling
  • Room for the dome, equipment and participant entry
  • Access to the facility before the scheduled program for setup

Planetarium To Go Pricing

Up to four hours: $750
Four to eight hours: $1,000

Travel within 50 miles is included at no additional charge. For locations 50 miles away or farther, mileage is charged at $2 per mile.
