Volunteer. For The Love Of Science!

Adults ages 18+ can volunteer in a variety of roles at Mid-America Science Museum! The volunteer application process is easy and involves (1) filling out the application, (2) passing a criminal background check and (3) completing an interview with the volunteer coordinator. If the museum does not have an immediate match for your area of interest, our volunteer coordinator will be in touch and keep your information on file for future opportunities.

Volunteer Positions

  • Gallery Attendant: Engages guests in their exploration of hands-on exhibits throughout the museum.
  • Tinkering Studio Attendant: Assists guests with open-ended activities in the Tinkering Studio
  • Show Assistant: Assists the Education Staff either in the Tesla Theater or the Digital Dome.
  • Discovery Tables: Present science experiments or activities to museum guests
  • Special Event Assistant Throughout the year, Mid-America Science Museum hosts or participates in numerous special events. These events may occur either on or off campus. Duties and skills required will vary from event to event.

Volunteer Groups

Volunteer groups are key for our special event days, such as Tinkerfest and Taste of the Holidays. Mid-America Science Museum also has many unique opportunities throughout the year that are perfect for civic or school groups, businesses, and beyond. If your group is interested in volunteering, please email caseyw@midamericamuseum.org for more information.
